The Republic of Cyprus occupies the southern part of the island of Cyprus in the eastern Mediterranean Sea. The territory of the island (and its capital, Nicosia) is divided in two, the north being under Turkish rule.
The inland beaches and farmland, with their vineyards, have made the island famous. The coastal town of Paphos contains archaeological sites related to the worship of Aphrodite: ruins of palaces, tombs and villas decorated with mosaics.
A lot of beautiful touristic places are unmissable : Pétra tou Romioú, Cap Greco, Kykkos monastery, Tombs of the Kings, Paphos archaeological park, Kolossi castle and so on..
